He fell from space for your sins.

I guess that about covers the waterfront. Brilliant as usual. Loved the Ralph part.

A quick response re: which identity is the mask?
Clark Kent is the mask and this question seems silly- Perhaps because I am not well-versed in the world of superheroes. Did not superman fall from the sky? Is he not from a whole other planet? Is he not an alien? Therefore, I logically conclude that "he" is in fact Superman, and Clark Kent is the alias he uses in order to blend in on earth. However, this poses the question: what would his Kryptonian friends call him? Superman? Would they have equally as strange names (Extraordinarygirl and Amazingfantasticboy?)

RE: "A quick response re: which identity is the mask?"

We could have this conversation face to face, as you're sitting on the couch five feet away from me right now. But alas, no.

His Kryptonian friends would call him Kal-El, because that is his Kryptonian name. Oh! Snaps!

What you fail to address is the nature vs. nurture debate that is inherent in the character. Sure, Superman fell from the sky, but he was raised in Kansas by two farmers. He was not raised on Krypton. He is an alien, yes, but only in so much as every adopted child is an alien.

Who is he? The question remains...
